Silk Story

Vietnamese silk is manufactured in antiquated conditions as is the method of dying.  The silk is hand dyed by a small family business on the out skirts of Danang City.

Cold water dyes are used and is the reason for always hand washing your garment separately as colours may run.  There will always be slight variations in dye lots as the fabric is hand dyed (see photos) then dried on bamboo poles in a field.

Traditional Vietnamese silks will always have slubs and faults in the weave.  these garments are not mass produced and these small imperfections are part of the garments charm.
